Eagle Gold Heap Leach Facility Failure Update from FNNND Technical Team
On October 5, 2024, the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun's technical team lead a presentation to provide an update on work accomplished at the Eagle Gold Mine site since the failure. While at the time of writing, there is still much concern over the instability of the slide, and the ongoing risk of contaminate seepage, progress is being made.
FNNND has been a leader in this work since the very beginning. We're working alongside our partners at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Yukon Government to ensure that we have a role in this work, and that it happens in a way that upholds the wellbeing and integrity of our lands, waters, and all the animals who call this place home.
